How to Cancel a Move?

  • If you want to cancel your move, you need to let us know more than 5 business days before the day of your relocation.

     

  • If you contact us more than 5 business days before your move (the first day of the Pickup window for Long Distance moves), you can either receive a full refund of your deposited amount or reschedule your move.


You can call or email your moving assistant to let them know, whatever suits you the best.

When rescheduling or placing the move on hold, the customers are given credits for their deposit. However, your deposit can be refunded to the card originally used during booking if the move is canceled. If less than 5 business days’ notice is given, Zip Moving and Storage cannot refund the deposit, and you may incur further cancelation fees.

Credits for the moving deposit are valid for 12 months from the date of cancellation.

If you provide notice of your cancellation more than 5 business days in advance, you will receive a full refund of your deposit.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Zip Moving & Storage understands that planning a move is a time-consuming process. Sometimes, things go differently than planned, and you must cancel your move.

Our policy states that deposits are non-refundable within 5 business days of the scheduled pick-up date (or the first possible delivery date if your move is long-distance).

HOW to reschedule a move

Rescheduling within 3 business days or less, but before the day of your move, Zip Moving and Storage will charge you a $240.00 rescheduling fee to the Credit Card on file.

Rescheduling the service on the day of the move will result in a charge of $600.00.

The move can be rescheduled as many times as needed. However, please bear in mind that each time the rescheduling is done within 3 business days or less, the same fee of $240 would be charged to the card on file.

On the day of the move:

  • Rescheduling the service on the day of the move will cost $600.00.
  • Canceling the service on the day of the move will result in charge of $600.00, and Zip Moving and Storage will keep the deposited amount by the shipper ($170.00).

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE DEPOSIT TO BE REFUNDED?

The refund will be issued to the card that was originally used to submit the payment. Please note that a minimum of 24 hours needs to pass after your original deposit payment before we can refund your deposit. 

In some cases, a refund may be issued via UPS First Class check, in which case a team member will reach out to double-check the address you would be able to receive this check.
