Moving day has arrived! Your furniture and belongings are safely loaded on the moving truck…what happens next?Zip Moving & Storage gives customers a delivery window to anticipate the arrival of their belongings to their new home. The delivery window depends on many factors: distance of transit, inventory size, and season of the year, for example.

For long-distance moves, the delivery window ranges from 2 to 14 days.
WHAT FACTORS DETERMINE THE DELIVERY WINDOW
- Distance: The mileage between the origin and the destination greatly affects the estimated delivery window. Zip Moving & Storage follows the posted speed limits and the DOT regulations, which mandate a driver cannot exceed 8 hours of driving per day. Therefore, a long-distance move delivery window greatly depends on the distance to the destination.
- Size: A full truckload begins the journey right away. For efficiency, a half-full truck will stop at one or more other homes until the truck reaches capacity. A smaller shipment, therefore, has a wider delivery window.
- Season: The delivery window depends on the season of the year. The peak season is May September. During the peak season, the delivery window may be wider due to higher demand.

In some cases, a wide delivery window is not accepted by customers. If this is the case, Zip Moving & Storage recommends purchasing the guaranteed moving delivery service. Our expedited service will ensure customers receive their shipment faster, independent of shipment size.
LOCAL MOVES DELIVERY WINDOWS
Local moves do not require the shipment to travel as many miles as long-distance moves. As such, local move delivery windows are much narrower, with most local moves delivering same-day. One exception to this is when the customer is unable to receive the shipment on the same day.
